Nice, when do we get to see the animated version?
:D
I probably would have done an animated version before I had a kid of my own, but he's 3 and I'm pretty sure it would scare the s**t out of him. Your just gonna have to use your imagination on this one.

BTW ATD, Nice work. I'm going to assume you are a motion graphics designer? What apps do you work in?

Thanks. I do mostly print (design + imaging), I'm trying to work my way toward motion graphics. I spend most of my time in Photoshop and Maya. I have been working in Maya for years and it still makes my head hurt. What did you use for that image?

Used Maya and Photoshop too. Do motion graphics at work via After Effects. Was an Illustrator in my previous life (before child) Which I much prefer, but was not as consistant and only freelance.

Maya also makes my head hurt, but I try to keep it in perspective. I dont bite off more then I can chew and take small steps concentrating on specifics when learning, ie just working on modeling poly's or just working on shader nodes etc.. If you try to do it all in one bite it gets extremely confusing and the need to bash yourself over the head with a hammer becomes an option.

Heres an animation somewhat in the flavor of what you are looking for....Perhaps not as gory. Unfortunately I cant post the sound effect that goes with it:(
Also plays much smoother when not an animated gif...

LOL I love it! A new spot for the Disney Channel. Is that light coming from the Pixar lamp?

Did the animation in school and now ironically, find myself working for the mouse:eek:

BTW, Nice shaders. you must teach me your rust technique!

Finally put in something different then the default Mac OS X ships with. It's hard to find a good wallpaper that leaves the side clear for the icons, and doesn't have someone's name or site plastered all over it.

The Mouse! Say it ain't so. Just kidding, I did some work for them last summer. The rust (like the compass image) is a photographic texture, the trick is how it applied (Color, Bump, Specular Rolloff and Reflectivity with a Triplanar Projection) then add Final Gather and an HDRI (in Mental Ray). If you want some pointers on that just PM me.

Both My Desktops...

First one is the account I use at home (Mmmmmmm....LOST......).

Second one is the account I use at work.

I agree, some people have these gorgeous women on their desktop, not sure how you could get anything done with a naked supermodel sitting on your desktop. Your one handed typing skills must be amazing! :p
