How are you guys displaying the HD used and free space on the desktop icon or is it just part of the name and you have to change it yourself everytime you add or delete?

In Finder, go to Desktop (click somewhere on your desktop), choose View -> Show View Options (cmd-J), then check the Show item info option... it updates itself, but only whenever the Finder is relaunched (typically at login).

Don't want to bug you.... :)

Does anyone know the name of the application used to frame the desktop images ?? It has preset frames and you drop your images into them and
edit them... Would appreciate it if someone could shed some light on this
matter....

I had it on my last machine and cant remember what its called!

Thanks inadvance...

There's one called SnapShooter, although it's not going to do all the reflections and everything for you. It does have nice frames though.

What do you use to put a picture in a MacBook picture? I've noticed a lot of people with their desktop pictures inside iMacs, Cinema Displays, etc.

Anyway, here's mine. It's an iTunes visualizer screenshot. I like having a unique wallpaper, although I might have to change it now that I've seen some of the other desktops in this thread. :)

I just took product pictures of the MacBook and my external monitor, placed them in a .png, with the "wallpaper" areas transparent. Each month I just put a scaled-down version of the then-current wallpaper "under" the png. Clean and simple, though there are definitely spiffier ways of doing it. (Look into a program called SnapShooter, and others of that type.)
