Aptv 3 and iPad 3

Might be a stupid question, but how do I get my iPad 3 to mirror full screen on my new apple tv3

double tap home button. on bottom, slide finger from left to right to display the small airplay icon. you will be able to put it in mirror mode. Instructions below are for iPad 2, but should be the same with the iPad 3.

I get it to show up on my tv, but it only takes up half the screen. I want it to take up my full screen on the tv

The iPad screen ratio is 4:3 so if you are mirroring it it will always have black bars on the side. (Flat screen TVs are a ratio of 16:9)
