I can't find any answers on this. I have a 4k ATV connected to a Samsung 4K TV. I have a TV in the bedroom with a 4K ATV attached to it with no problems but I do have HDR turned off.

Tried the same settings on the this other TV and nothing seems to work. I am using the built in speakers on the TV and this is happening with content purchased through iTunes and through Airplay using YouTube on a MBP.

I have a spare 4k ATV from when I lived in a house and had 3 tvs and that one also blacks out just as bad when I connect it to this TV.

For anyone who may be having this problem, I finally fixed it by resetting the entire ATV and then setting it up again using my iPhone. In the ATV settings, I changed the two settings to match content and turned off HDR.

I have the same issue. Also with a Samsung TV.
Remember resetting the ATV, also did HDMI check, worked for a while but it started again.
Tried lots of cables, same issue.
On my ATV, the HDMI cable cannot be fully inserted, can see about 1.5mm from the metal part of the connector sticking out of the ATV and moving a bit.
I expect this is the problem, but is not happening each time I move the cable.

I have found that happened with mine as I was messing with the cables on Sunday but I figured out that it is not the problem in my situation.
