"AquaAppearanceHelper" is recording my screen?!

Hey everyone,

Since updating to macOS Sequoia I noticed something really weird: Whenever my MacBook Pro was sleeping and I wake it up, a purple dot appears at the top right of the screen. When I unlock it, it's gone after approx. 2 seconds. But when I then invoke the Control Center, I see a message that "AquaAppearanceHelper" was "recording my screen".

I'm quite worried at the moment. Anyone else also experiencing this? Thanks!

Thank you! I think it has something to do with light / dark mode switching or Night Shift switching since it appears that this message only appears the FIRST time that I unlock my MacBook Pro after it switched modes. I also read such a report from a user on Reddit.
