Will the archive and re-install feature in tiger work well when migrating over to leopard? Is that how most of you guys are gonna do your leopard install so that you keep all you setting?

Also when doing an archive and re-install do you need to backup your applications and programs?

Thanks

Backups are always recommended... always

Having said that, if you have your original software install disks, you can always reinstall from there, but if you have updated from the web since purchase you will have to reinstall the updates.

There are those that favor a clean reformat and install and others who say it is OK to use the archive/reinstall. I have never had a problem going the simple route, but others like the control. There are valid reasons for both.

You probably won't go wrong either way.
