Ordered my AirPods but I'm kinda having second thoughts. It's not too late to cancel the order, and it's possible to return them if I can't cancel it. Should I keep them once they get here?

On the whole, I've heard nothing but good things about them. Really great things actually. You have 14 days to try them out, so see how they fare after a couple of days and start a thread with your thoughts!

When the AirPods were originally announced and I saw the price, I thought it was pretty ridiculous. I assumed they were glorified EarPods, just wireless. Lo and behold, I ended up purchasing a pair because I was getting tired of the dongle and overall wires from my Bose earphones from 5 years ago.

In the several weeks since I've owned them, I absolutely love them. Maybe it's the "newness" of them, but I use them everyday while at work and took them on a trip with me last weekend. I don't have to worry about wires getting tangled up and I'm free to move around my cubicle without having to worry if I'm going to pull my iPhone to the ground. I'm not audiofile, but the sound quality sounds better than the wired EarPods.

You need noise isolation and very good sound? If so, forget it.

With the five hour rated usage times and how seamless they pair with your Apple devices, it's worth it. They have some really features and they are compact, and easy to carry.

For me they are worth every penny. The seamless pairing is a plus. No messing about pairing and unpairing. Also the charging case is a standout feature. I only need to charge the case every 6-7 days and I'm good to go. My AirPods always have a charge. Since using the AirPods I've come to appreciate the complete wireless nature of them. Since buying them I've not used any wired headphones.

Of course your mileage may vary. However if you're buying from Apple you might as well try them out and you can always return them if they are not for you.

I think it is crazy they were released 3 months ago and wait time for shipping is still 6 weeks out.
I walked into an Apple Store today, asked if they were available. I did set up an alert yesterday via iStocknow.com to alert me if these were at a local store. An alert sent to me via email that the pods were available down the street. After two minutes I had paid and left. I never really thought about buying these until yesterday when I became furious that my phone was about to die and I couldn't charge and listen to music.
I think they look a bit odd, but they sound great and have amazing range.

Sold my Apple Watch to buy these...they're coming Monday from Verizon. Really looking forward to them considering all of the things I've read and watched about them online.

The Airpods are not water resistant rated, so when I finish with my workouts, I wipe them down with a microfiber cloth.
I knocked mine out of my ear a few weeks ago when it was raining as I fiddling about with the hood on my coat. It fell out and into a puddle but it's perfectly fine. It still works and the sound quality is just the same as the other one.

A few forum members reported their Airpods being soaked and then a week or so later, they shorted out. In any case, there is zero water resistance rating. Also, one of the editors on Macrumors posted he was running in the rain and his Airpods stopped functioning all together. Again, each situation varies and not everyone will have the same situation.

Just as a technical note, in a poll like the one you posted the only right answer is "for some people". Whatever people's personal opinion is for themselves, everyone has to acknowledge that there are some people who will, and some who will not think they're worth it.

Absolutely love mine. They're really convenient, and easy to carry around. No wires. The dental floss case gives a purpose to that stupid change pocket in my jeans... A win all around.

Only thing I've noticed is that the audio can be spotty out doors with the phone in my pocket-- I've kind of assumed it's because my iPhone 5's Bluetooth connection isn't as reliable as some of the newer models. Anybody else notice this? Indoors, it's rock solid.

My reference for "worth it" is whether I'd replace something if it were damaged or lost and with these I'd replace them immediately.

Oh this happened about 3 weeks ago and I've had no problems. Perhaps as my AirPod didn't get completely submerged as it was quite a shallow puddle of water.

I scored some in January at Target. Use them primary for business. Awesome on conference calls - no lag, no complaints, good sound.

I bought them on same premise - if I didn't like them - back they go. Best $150 I've spent in a while.

I also use them on business calls while walking through neighborhood. On one particularly windy day I fully expected to get "can't hear you" - never happened.

I was hesitant because of price as well. However, I love these headphones.

I was always a fan of EarPods anyway, so these were a perfect fit. They do sound a bit better than the standard wired ones. I charge the case whenever I think to and I put the headphones in it when I'm done using them. The battery life is better than expected. I use them around 6-7 hours between work and other things.

Enjoy :)

I just bought a set and they work great for me so far. Who knows when generation two will be out. Most likely won’t be much difference in the two except charging mode anyway, might as well buy them if you want a set.well worth it in my opinion.

They should be louder and have a stronger bass. Other than that I like them because they're practical and wireless.

I doubt there will be much change in the next generation AirPods. I always recommend just getting current gen unless we’re really close to a refresh or if rumors do indeed suggest revolutionary changes.

Absolutely worth it. It's amazing how trouble-free they are. They're comfortable, easy, and there's no cord to get tangled around things. (Like bicycle spokes, which ended up in me getting closely acquainted with the bricks on the concourse.)

For me the AirPod sound too low in volume they are not too loud and they lack horribly in BASS ! Apple needs to work big time on these issues !!
