Are all _Straps_ Waterproof?

Are the leather straps (especially, the Modern Buckle) waterproof? Will they hold up to a shower everyday?

If I wear my watch in the shower, should I just use a rubber strap?

...No, don't get the leather wet. It will spot and eventually dry out and disintegrate.

Apple's website states non of the leather straps are waterproof.

From (non Apple Watch) experience, leather bands hold up very poorly to moisture. Over time it will look pretty grungy. Especially if you exercise regularly (sweat!) with it.
