Are all the Gmail Push apps dead?

One of my most-used apps was "Push for GMail", but since IOS 4.2.1 the push notifications have been broken. No response after several days from the vendor, either. So, I checked the reviews of several other apps with GMail push capabilities, looking for one to buy, and it seems like they're all broken. Anyone know if this is fixable, or if it's maybe a GMail, rather than IOS issue?

Alternatively, anyone know of a Gmail push app which is currently working?

Thanks, but it's $10, and from reading the most recent reviews it doesn't look like this one is reliable, either.

Push for Gmail isn't 10$ but 1.99$. On sale right now I believe. I have just seen it in the App Store. However, it is true that the reviews aren't that great.

I know - GPush is $10, Push for Gmail (the app I have, and like) is $1.99.

Anyway, after screwing with this for quite a while, I did get Push for Gmail notifications to work again. A few reviewers said to just do a delete/re-install, and that didn't work. So, I reinstalled IOS 4.2.1, then reinstalled Push for Gmail, and as of right now, it's working again. First time I've ever had to go hrough such an effort to get an app to work properly, but as far as I've tried, when it's working, this the best app for Gmail and GoogleVoice. Some response from the vendor, contacted middle of last week, would have been nice, though.

Why do you need gpush or similar apps now that iOS 4.x supports multiple microsoft exchange accounts? Setup Gmail with MS exchange and you will get push notifications for your gmail.

I'm just not a fan of MS.

You don't need to be a fan of Microsoft to use the exchange server. Your logic is flawed.

I can understand the need for third party gmail push apps prior to iOS 4.0 but they are made obsolete now. Remember exchange is build within iOS. Third party apps aren't.
