On the road
I was just browsing through the Buyer's Guide and noticed this:

The time between the latest model and the previous model is greater than the time between that previous model and the one before for every single Apple product, except (only just) the MacBook (and since this was once only a very minor speed bump it's not a real anomaly in my opinion).:p

Just a thought - it might simply be coincidence I guess. What do you reckon?;)

Good observation, but I don't think that's really what's going on though.
Most computer updates seem to be dictated by Intel's introduction of new processors. Also when the Intel transition took place, they did seem to upgrade more often (see MacBook Pro), but it should be pretty regular now. :D

its true. expect them to be updated even less often with the slew of new products being released at macworld. New products=more to focus on.

Well, a lot of effort in the past few years has been focused on the intel transition and the iPhone.

And the transformation of the company from a computer company to a computer company cum consumer electronics company.

So I would think the pace of products will pick up again in 08 and 09.
