iPhone 16 Pro Are Apple Stores really out of stock of iPhone 16 Pro?

Yes they are. The phone sold a lot better than people anticipated especially the desert color. My buddy ordered a day late and his phone won't get here from Apple until mid-October.
Yeah they have been scarce, the most inventory I saw was in the morning on the first day and then some started trickling in 1 week after release probably due to people not picking them up. If you check the Apple website every hour they periodically pop up.. Though I have been seeing less and less of the variant that I may want to get though, guessing they may get a shipment soon though.
Just received my first notification from them today. It looks like there is a lot more stock locally is why. Whatever phones became available were probably only there briefly and never triggered their notifications I'm assuming.
Was nothing at the two stores around here for the last couple weeks - finally super late last night (i guess technically early this morning) a black 256 PM appeared and I was able to snag it for pickup. Then processed my trade-in at the store (since I live abroad and can't wait around for a kit to be mailed). w00t
I was in an Apple Store yesterday to upgrade my wife and I to the 16 Pro... ended up with the Pro Max for both of us, but the only colors they had of either Pro model was Desert Titanium (which is truly horrifically ugly color compared to the photos on Apple's site) and Natural Titanium (which actually looks really nice, unlike the photos on Apple's site).
They were also out of the blue and aqua colored regular iPhone 16s (which both look really, really nice!)

Most stores in my area are usually out of stock on the 1TB Pros if you want white or black. The desert and natural are sometimes in stock.
If you are lucky and constantly check local stores from about 06:00-10:00 you can snag a 1TB. The stores seems to update stock throughout the morning, so you can be lucky.
I'm in South Florida. We have, I think, 9 stores here that I can reasonably drive to and they none last time I checked. That was maybe a week ago and that may have changed today though.
I cannot find them anywhere except if you want one from VERIZON or ATT at Best Buy. They no longer sell unlocked phones. And no one has 128gb. This is November 7th. You can purchase from Apple and pay the $10 premium for AppleCare.
