Just wondering if you have to pay them in full and unlock them before someone else could pair them?

If you buy Apple Watch directly from Apple, I don’t see why it is locked, unless you are in a payment plan.

Bought through ATT, and I’m making payments on the watch, but I’m actually using the numbersync with a different watch now - just wondering if I have to pay that other one off in full and unlock it to sell it.

I think device locking is usually done by the carrier so it will depend carrier to carrier. Here in UK, I don't think Vodafone lock the watch.

Well, I believe you still need to pay off the Watch before selling it. Idk too much about US carrier so that’s just a bit of my educated guess.

I would do that for sure if I was selling to a stranger, but am thinking of offering to my daughter, and didn’t want to have to pay it off completely to just give it to her Since it’s such a small amount each month.

In that case, I don’t feel paying off is strictly necessary, assuming Your daughter will use a different number. Or you can just set it up as a second watch on your iPhone.

For cellular, I don’t see any reason why adding another Apple Watch to numbersync is an issue.

Yeah I mean my daughter is an adult - was just gonna upgrade her watch with my 7. I’ve already replaced it on number sync with my 8.

We don’t share a provider or cell service or anything, which is why I wondered if it would have to be paid off for her to activate it.
