Are artists albums in chronological order?

I just wanna make sure before I update my OS devices. If not I think I'll just pass.

They are in descending chronological order.

newest at top and oldest at the bottom.

There's an option in iOS 9 beta 2 to have them ordered chronologically or alphabetically.

Actually, the option is to sort albums by Artist or by Title in Album View. In Album View they are sorted Alphabetically grouped by Artist or not. But if you are in Artist View, they are sorted chronologically under each Artist.
