To the OP, I don't know where you live, but check craigslist. In NYC, people are selling factory unlocked iphones all the time.

They charge about $900-$1000, considering buying it from canada is about $779, it's not that bad of a price.

Yes the craiglist ones are available and some of them are factory unlocked and some are scams where they hide the cydia app and sell them as factory unlocked. Many of the buyers end up on the forums after they update and lose the unlock.

I bet the ratio or factory unlocked iphones sold in the US is very low.
You'll find tons of JB and unlocked though.
