Are contacts saved in iphone back up?

My iphone was sent for repair today but i never checked the box to sync contacts to address book. When i get the phone back and restore from back up will i still have my numbers? There not on my sim because im using a spare phone now and there not there so there definantly on the phone ( i put in my old sim card when i got my iphone and just copyed numbers to phone ) then put in the new sim.

The default setting is to backup with iTunes sync.

It'll be there unless you changed it.

They’ll be in your backup unless you somehow overwrite your backup with no contacts. Stop depending on the backup and sync with Address Book FROM NOW ON.

Contacts are not on an iPhone sim.
