Just saw that the new MacBooks have been released. Besides Holiday sales, back to school (High School, College, University etc.) sales are probably Apples two top sales opportunity’s so it would seem Apple wants to make they’re new product(s) available in time to do so. Unless Apple released the new MacBooks now to ease the number of expected new products to be released in Sept/Oct, the does that mean we can also reasonably expect new iPad’s to be released, also in time for back to school sales?

Well, I would love if the new iPad pros were announced in August before back to school...but I think the next release will be the iPhones in September. It’s totally possible that new iPad pros will be announced at that iPhone event as well, but my bet is Oct/Nov for the new iPad pros. Of course we are all just guessing here. Nobody knows for sure yet. I have seen zero leaks yet on the new iPad pros. No pics. Nothing. So I am just lowering my expectations so I am not disappointed. I would love to be wrong and see new iPad pros sooner than later tho!

I would not expect anything until iOS 12 is announced/released. If the new iPads are truly face ID and no home button, I would assume that they will require the new operating system to function.

Good point.

If rumors of Face ID iPad Pros are true I would expect that Apple will release them during a Keynote, either during the standard September iPhone keynote, or during it's own keynote later in the fall. Devices which are only receiving refreshes (like the Macbook Pros today, and likely the same for iMacs at some point in the near future) will just get press releases.

I haven't seen or heard anything to cause me to reconsider my belief that new iPad Pros are coming in March 2019.

Lol. You are such a pessimist. We have had this discussion in another thread: I think October and you think 2019. We shall see.

Didn’t Ming-Chi Kuo‘s brief sway you a bit this week?

Pessimist? I have no feelings good or bad about when the next iPad Pro is going to be announced. I suppose if one was hopeful that new iPad Pros were going to be announced at WWDC (as a few pundits and many here claimed as a certainty) then my belief would not be good news if true. :)

No. The thing about analysts is that they need to regularly remind people they exist. Successful analysts are not like Punxsutawney Phil, popping out of their hole once a year on groundhog's day. They have to make regular appearances. ;)

With the iOS 12 iPad revisions adding the gesture based interface I fully am expecting a September iPhone/iPad/Apple Watch event. With a October or November Mac desktop refresh.

Kuo has the highest accuracy rate, given he is more of an *insider* than just an ‘Analyst.’ A lot of what you read about the iPad rumors are regurgitated from other sites, but Kuo seems to put out most specific rumors indicating what we will see for the next Gen iPads, some of which is expected, but its The timelines that are some of the most difficult to predict, not Necessarily the features.

September event could be too packed if it’s phones/ipads/watch will see though as expect this may happen

The September keynote will be iPhone and Apple Watch.

The iPads with the biggest redesign they’ve ever had will definitely get their own keynote and not just a “one more thing” kinda thing. Expect October or November

I agree. I think this will be two separate events, especially if they’re going to focus the iPad to be more an introductory of Face ID as well. I think the iPad, Apple Watch and iPhone is all way too much for a September keynote. Which leads me to believe it will either be an October/November iPad event or spring 2019.

Based on the current opinion of Apple, they need this event to spark interest and excitement again. They need to go big, and make an impact. This is the perfect opportunity to bring back "One More Thing" for the new iPads or a redesigned Apple Watch.

highly unlikely for them to be announced before the iPhones. so the 2nd week of sept

Or, being that we are expecting three new iPhones, a revised Apple Watch Series 4, possible version two of the AirPods, the iPad very well could have their own Keynote in October or later, or simply just in 2019.
