Are laptop cases with magnets safe?

    I found a lovely case for my new MBP, but it has a magnetic closure on the outside flaps. Will it cause any damage to the computer?

    No, it'll be fine. It would take some very powerful magnets held right up against the laptop's drive or RAM before you have any problems...much more powerful magnets than you're going to find on a bag's flaps.

    I just wanted to make sure. This machine has to last me a long time! :)

    But I want my laptop bag to be made entirely out of an electromagnet that's powered by the laptop's battery!
