Hey. Just bought AirPods Pro from Argos today, packaged sealed etc. Serial number on Apple support app is showing its warranty as expiring 21st July 2021, not a full 12 months from today? Does this mean they were returned and repacked? How can I purchase Apple care now? It says not available on the Apple website and doesn’t recognise my serial number

I have heard this happen at times, seems that the date they are passed to Argos is the date used to start the warranty. Seen it at other sellers like Amazon also. Talk to an Apple advisor or email them and provide evidence of your purchase date, they will fix it.

Thanks guys. Apple Support told me it means they are used, even after we both agreed Argos are an authorised seller.
I then went to the store explaining this, they was shocked and would replace them. However, no stock... I drove 15 miles to another and they switched them there. Before leaving, I checked the serial number and this time it said warranty expires May 05th 2021, less time than the original pair.
Me and the manager checked the other 6 in stock and all said a date in May.
Seems they aren’t used, they’re brand new. Just that the dates are all wrong.
The Apple advisor never said anything about sending evidence of purchase date to correct the warranty start date, causing me a lot of hassle, time and petrol. ?

It's like I mentioned before, they are new, but for some reason, some batches sent by Apple see the warranty counter start on the date the batch is handed over. They are treating Argos like the end-user rather than you.
