that flap on the packaging is magnetic for the real thing, something I'd imagine a faker wouldn't bother emulating...

I have the exact same headphones as the OP. Exact same!.

I got them as a gift from my girlfriend and she wont tell me how much she paid for it or where she got them from but guarantees they are real.

Now to everyone who wrote it off as a fake just because of the price are stupid. because he could have stole it and wanted to get rid of it quickly. or any other reason. The price alone does not guarantee it to be fake. so think before posting.

Now I have checked many places online how to identfiy fakes and the only thing that matches is the image of dr dre is faded. I do not have real ones to compare it to, and I cannot type the serial number in the drebeats website as they do not support serialization on the tour range.

Are they fake and how?

I need to show my girlfriend this so she can return them without getting all emotional about it, as long as i can show her they are fake...

Whew, what a relief. They're not counterfeit goods, they might just be stolen. LOL.

cut the cords up in front of her and see her reaction. If she freaks out then they're real and your relationship was too. If she fakes it and kinda half-freaks then they're fake and guess what....

Those $13 fakes would surprise you. They have an insane low end on them.

Yeah, but every step-by-step "how to spot fakes" guide is also a how-to guide for counterfeiters to make more convincing products / packaging.

I agree with the general sentiment of the thread, probably fake but if you like them it shouldn't matter. And ultimately it was only $13.
