In Australia, LTE only costs another $5 per month, which is like $4 USD, so I may do it anyway!!!! What I dislike is the extra initial cost of the LTE version of the AW3, since it’s definitely a luxury item for me at $500 AUD without LTE. I don’t need to spend $600 for something I can’t make full use out of.

Despite not believing that I need LTE, and trying to talk myself out of it, I ended up buying the LTE version a few minutes ago. I’ll also opt into a plan because it’s only $5 per month!! ;)

I think it’s worth the extra cost. I bought a series 3 LTE myself with Applecare+ so I’m keeping the watch at least two years (had my series 0 2.5 yrs). Even if one doesn’t activate LTE initially, they may decide they need LTE down the road. You also get more storage and ceramic back.

Just ordered 4 w/LTE (me, DW, DD1, DD2)! 12/25 is a looooooong way off.

There’s no way I’m adding monthly $13 x 4 so the LTE is just future proofing.

thing is you're only paying an extra £5 a month it's hardly an issue even if you don't use it often. The odd time is enough to justify it to me

Plus... my perspective is that just because I’m very rarely making calls on my watch doesn’t mean I’m not “using” the LTE when I go out without my phone. Having the LTE available is a safety precaution that’s very important to me, especially if I’m running or skiing by myself.
