Are people watching me through my webcam!?!

Are you sure? Because, I was in a skype call, and turned on my facecam to show my friends my dog. I then turned it off later, but the green light is still on. I also have no apps up that could be taking video, (facetime, etc.) nor opened any. So, I'm afraid somebody's spying on me. Do you have any reccomendations?

yes, open the MacBook and plug off the camera cable from the board
