I ask this question because it seems that all people my age have alot smaller hands then our parents.

    Example parent hand:

I have thin shortish hands, those shots are at bad camera angles though.

When you are your parents' ages, your hands will likely not be as thin as they are now. Bet your parents are wrinklier and grayer also.

Could it be that parents and specially grandparents had to do more physical work with their hands than our generation?

Gardening and growing their own food, plus a job as builder, factory worker etc., was standard in those times, while I spend all day typing on a keyboard and moving a mouse around.

Surely, the different use of the hand has an impact on the shape and skin consistency.

Small hands have their advantages - especially if one is an Apple customer :)

ZOMG! My hand looks like that. Am I an alien? I think that different people have different hands. There are still young people with pudgy hands. Fingers like vienna sausages.

Proficiency in nose mining is the latest of human evolutionary advancements, right after the advent of 1337 5p01x¡¡¡

Gravity pulls the fat in our fingers to the finger tips, thus there is less of a space between the webbing and the tips as well as they are more bulbous around the tip.

Our bodies are losing the peripheral extremities Steve Jobs deems unnecessary. Soon we'll have only one port in our pants: light peak.

Well, think of it this way:

With only an iPhone finger, it will only be easier to discern whether or not someone just gave you "the" finger...
