So I received my s4 44mm today and now I'm thinking of getting new bands for it. Amazon is listing numerous s3 42 bands and I don't see any exlusive S4 bands. Anyone has both s3 42 qnd s4 44 bands can clarify/confirm whether they are identical in size or the s3 only compatible with s4 and not the same size/fit ?

I know they will work but the question is whether they are identical in size and fit (since their face sizes 44 vs 42 are different). If their bands are not identical in size (at the interconnects) then there is a pretty good chance new S4 only bands will be available soon on amzon by 3rd parties.
Yes - the new case size/shape has been designed so that the current/past bands are a “perfect fit.” This has been confirmed in several reports.
