Are student discounts available right away for new mbp?

Once the new rmbp comes out, will i be able to get the student discount on it, or is that something generally geared only towards the older stuff? Anyone have any experience or knowledge with this?

The student discount is available throughout the entire Macbook range (except refurbished models).
