Are the bands universal?

I just want to verify that the bands are universal.. i.e. Milanese loop on sport, or watch.

I'd like some clarification too. Watching the keynote, it seemed that each collection has its own selection, though short of making an exclusive mechanism for each version it seems possible to just use whatever the hell you want.

An Apple.com chat employee clarified that all straps are interchangeable.

universal, but not all the bands are in both sizes. For example, the leather loop band in only available in 42mm

Yeah on the online chat thing, they confirmed the bands are universal.

The guy I was speaking to said you get a spare band in the box of the colour you choose, can anyone confirm or was he talking BS?

edit: Might be the case with the Sport only.

Confirmed. Each Sport band ships with two of the same color bands. One Small/Medium and a Medium/Large
