Hi, in some previous models, not all usb ports were equal. If I recall correctly, some pre-2015 models usb port had faster charging near the magsafe port, etc. How about the MBP 16" 2019? Are all four usb-c ports the same? Same charging speed? Same data transfer speed?

The 15" always has had four full speed ports, so it would make sense the 16" which has the same CPUs as the 2019 15" would also have this configuration. It was the 2016 and 2017 13" which had two reduced speed ports, I believe because the CPUs they were using at the time didn't have enough PCIe channels to support 4 full speed TB3 ports.

I think the MBP 17" around Y2K also had usb ports of different specifications.

For the new 16" 2019, I wonder if each port is 40Gbps / 100W Charging independently. I don't want shared ports which is user using one port automatically reduces the speed of the other.

Link to a MacBook Pro from the year 2000?

The two left ports use one Thunderbolt controller, and the two right ports are on a second Thunderbolt controller. Apple recommends sensible connections (i.e. one display connected to left and a second display connected to the right). Splitting up the load seems to be the recommendation.

And if you add more peripherals to a single port via a hub, does each one still work at full speed?
