My Apple Store doesn’t even let you inside anymore, let alone let people touch all over demo devices. They have you schedule an appointment then bring out whatever you made it for.
Oh! That to bad! What is the purpose of being an Apple Store if they do not let you inside? Defeats the purpose of a physical store!
A little something called COVID.
in the past Apple never had a display model before the launch day so they won’t have it up till Friday. Also I recommend you set up an appointment doing the Shop with specialist. only then they will let you in. Otherwise you have to wait. This is all due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Go to a carrier store. I can walk into Verizon and touch any phone I want.

Friday, huh! I think I will wait till all the models are release then I can see all of them!

There is a current ongoing global pandemic which may have something to do with this 🤦♂️
I have been in 2 Apple Stores in San Antonio, Texas nine last 2 days. None on display until the 23rd.

Consider yourself lucky if your stores are even open anymore. I went to return a watch band (which I had just done the week prior) and we now have a "closed until further notice" sign. Not sure but it may have something to do with being the COVID hotspot of America lately.
