Reason I ask, is because whenever I upgrade in less than 2 months I'm leaning more towards white. And if it changes color on me will Apple replace it? I really hope it was just a fluke on just one or two.

Please, those are such rare cases.

There are always a few faulty ones out of the millions that are sold, like that exploding iPod Touch.

So what if you're iPhone 3GS turns brown? Return it, and get a free replacement.

I can see it now. We're going to start getting numerous new threads about what week do you need to buy to make sure you don't get the white iPhone that turns brown. 🙂

Welcome back Unspoken Demise. Was it cold out there? 🙂

It turned out to be surface discoloration from certain third-party cases, which easily wiped off with a moist towel. Of course, this fact got far less coverage than the initial story about iPhones turning brown. Of course.

Yeah, but Twitter kept me company. And I got a LOT done at work. Gotta watch my mouth from now on I suppose... I'll try. 😉

I think they discovered that certain cases were causing the discoloration, no?

I think thats why mine is still white. Mine doesnt have a case. But Ive used a few before, including the frame, slider, and sena pouch. Still no discoloration.

Okay...that's good to know. I haven't been using a case on my 3G for a few weeks now and I kinda like it. 😀

Mine is still white. When I use Cydia and Winterboard for like an hour straight my 3GS felt like it was on fire a few times, but the back looks like it's brand new.
