Awesome how many features have been added over the past 2 years through software updates: multiuser, handoff and Dolby atmos!
Intercom and default audio source. I got my first HomePod at the ass end of iOS 12. Was secure requests always a thing?

I don’t think a HomePod 2 is coming anytime soon, maybe in a couple more years... maybe...

From apples perspective, they have a HomePod which started at over £300 (way too expensive), didn’t sell well and so reduced it to £280, and let’s be honest it still isn’t doing well.

I can imagine another price drop in the near future, I think the only time the HomePod has had half decent sales is when it hit £199 here in the UK and even then it wasn’t a huge hit due to its age.

If Apple even considered a refresh it would have to be retailing at £200-£250 maximum out the gate it’s just whether Apple feel the profit margin is worth it and also if it’s worth taking the risk.

Apple are well aware the current HomePod is more welcomed into the market at £200 hence why they are giving an £80 voucher in the Black Friday deal at the moment.

The only thing I have got to say for Apple that even though HomePod is technically a failure, they are still bringing new features to it 3 years later.

Love your predictions but I've just purchased my first HomePod so I hope Apple doesn't refresh it any time soon!

So what exactly does the HomePod have over the mini? Besides sound. I am a mini owner and never even considered the original due to price.

I hope they continue to develop the lineup, but there's really nothing I would change about the HomePod at this point. I love the size, the sound, and the form factor. I just picked up a couple minis and am looking forward to hearing them. But, if they never updated the homepod, I'd still entertain buying a couple more. I don't use them or smart home integration or virtual assistant tasks, so they are great for me.

think it's good to have different options but I think apple need to develop the smaller version as thats the option people are more likely to buy as lets face it the value is pretty damn good
