Are we sure M3 is based on A17 Pro?

M3 was Frankenstein SoC 🙂 First and last. P-Cores were from A17 Pro (Everest V2), but the E-Cores was "stolen" from A16 Bionic (Sawtooth V1). If we speak for the NPU TOPS - every M chip uses past's generation NPU 🙂

For example M3 was based on A16 Bionic's Themis, M4 is based on A17 Pro's Iaso, but renamed to Leto and newer M5 is based on A18 Pro's Theia architecture. M6 I'm expecting to be based on A19 Pro's Apollo.
