Its funny how the

Watch has made even hard core Apple fans consider whether they actually need a product that Apple has created. Because I run a youtube channel, I will buy the

Watch so I can get a lot of good coverage out on launch day, which will be great for exposure for my channel. And I am extremely interested in what the

Watch will be like, so I definitely will get one on launch day. But how I actually like it, and how useful it actually is for me, I'll find out when I get it. I just got the Pebble Watch yesterday, and it is very convenient to get notified of what is going on with your iPhone. I do find myself wishing I could reply from the watch, or choose and play music from the watch. That is why I still will get the

Watch, bc I still want a bit more functionality.
I still believe a BIG part of the problem is that, at it's root, the Apple watch is, not that far away from a dumb screen that displays data from the iPhone you are forced to carry also.
I know it does a few little bits on it's own, but I believe a lot of Apple's plans are that the phone does the work and the Watch is just a small secondary display device on your wrist.
For me, anyway, this is a killer negative point.
Perhaps, and I hope, in time this will change.
But can you imagine an iPhone that needed you to carry a MacBook for the iPhone to be able to do almost anything worthwhile? No.....
Myself, I'd want to see the Watch as a totally independent device.
So I can leave the phone, ANY phone, at home, and just go about my business, with the watch only.
That means, YES, the watch has to be a phone.
And yes, that would make it limited. It would be not as good a phone as an actual phone, and it would be not as easy to type on it, as the phone.
But then the phone is not as good as a MacBook, and the MacBook is not as good as an iMac.
You pay a little price for each step down in size and power you make, but it still works.
As I say, I'd want to see the Watch be it's own thing.
Actually, I feel this IS going to be part of the problem.
Most people can pull the phone out their pocket in literally 2 to 3 seconds.
And if you can do that, AND have a better experience on the phone you HAVE to carry. Screen size, Camera, Typing, Speed, etc, etc
Then why bother with the watch on your wrist?
