I'm too lazy to specify which one when I'm putting it....so I just do it whichever way it's facing at the time.

Over the top for me. I find that under the bottom can cause the roll to try to climb the wall and pop off the end.

If you tear from a distance and there's no hanging end, it's more work to retrieve it from the back of the roll than the front.

Given how even I don't care about toilet roll. I have to question whether every post in this thread is a euphemism .

Although I admit, occasionally I get lazy and don't change the empty roll in the holder and just put the new roll on the top of the toilet and reach back and grab as needed.
As long as it's there to answer the call of duty, it doesn't really matter though.
