  • It is ok~~ since there are still marginal improvements that justify the hike.

Prices are still low compared to what they were even 20 years ago with a lot more options. Apple is not a value brand, they have always been expensive and that will never change.

The smartphone as it is today didn't exist 20 years ago. Mobile phones then were cutting edge tech whereas it's now a mature product with minor improvements each year.

Another big quarter, $117.15billion revenue in Q4. What really stands out is the gross margin: 42.96%, even higher than Wall Street estimated!

About all that tells me is there is no real need for one of the riches companies in the world to keep hiking prices if they are making nearly 43 cents in the dollar in gross profit!

CEO Tim Cook was also asked whether the move to higher ASPs for the iPhone is sustainable in light of the sharp decline in sales, and whether this will continue in a worsening economy. Cook said the 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max did extremely well until the supply-chain constraints. He says this is definitely a “strong Pro cycle” and credits the new features in the device. He says he’s happy that Apple is now shipping to the demand.

Sounds like Cook will continue to do so to justify his big fat pay check.

Can't vote on that….too emotional options.
Either you find Apple's products worth it or not? As simple as that.

Which goes for anything else for that matter.

I actually don't think base models of any Mac product represent poor value, except that RAM/SSD capacities are far too expensive to upgrade - which is not a new phenomenon but even less supportable in 2023 than it was five years ago when Apple settled on the current base specs.

Kind of a silly question. I don’t think ANYONE is actually “happy” about a price hike.
