Really happy with my iPad mini 6. The weight, size and form factors are perfect for my needs.

I’ve had the larger iPads in the past including the pro but this really is the sweet spot.

I just bought my mini 6 and LOVE it. One thing I don't like is usb-c. NONE of my old accessories work with it.

iPad mini is the tablet to do iPad stuff! I am selling my m1 11” soon… I hate that it doesn’t have promotion tho. The jelly scroll is overblown TO ME. But I definitely notice it not being as snappy as my 11” IPP or iPhone 13PM.

I mainly use my iPads as a media consumption device . Even having the pros throughout the years. I think I’m sticking with the IPad mini unless they do something to the new 11” pro.. which rumors are saying it won’t have mini led . So not sure what else they would do.

All iPads our overpowered for what they are ?‍♂️

Unless iPadOS 16 changes that… but I doubt it.

Not at all -- it's just subjective
Lmao . Guess I ABSOLUTELY NEED to say “to me” since we have the technicality police on the forums . But as someone who can 100% tell between different refresh rates, and definitely can see the jelly scroll in select cases… for what I FELL the iPad mini excels in, it’s not a reason to avoid the purchase IN MY OPINION.

When I got the iPad Mini 6 few months ago I gave my iPad Pro 10.5 to my daughter.

The jelly scrolling, quality of the display, poor iPadOS optimization and not ideal performance… I am going to admit my mistake and switch iPads with her. Luckily I am the only one in the family who notices the jelly scrolling so she will be happy with it. But for me, oh lord. At best it’s annoying as hell, when I am tired it physically makes me sick.

Mini 6 is the first iPad I regret buying.

Unfortunately, this forum (and the world) is full of people who really do state their opinion as fact—no “to me” qualifier implied. So they kind of ruin it for the rest. But the real danger is that anybody who isn’t familiar with the subject could come along and read an opinion stated as fact, and take it as fact (or a general consensus), and it may strongly influence them in some decision. So for clarity, it is necessary to add qualifiers like “IMO” IMO.

Do you have an Apple Watch? Guess you couldn’t use the watch if you don’t have an iPhone.
Someone can set up a watch as a standalone, but there would be an iPhone that is needed in the initial set-up. I know that there are some families that I know have done this for their kids initially instead of getting their kids phones.

Not ideal performance? It has an A15, the latest chip that is in the iPhone 13. Only about 5 percent less performance that the iPhone 13 Pro.

I have it and I love it.

Jelly scroll is not a big deal to me. Really you only notice it when scrolling rapidly, doesn't affect function of the device for what I use it for. Games, sports, movies, TV shows, etc all fine.

I personally have no use for a "pro" iPad, I really like the size and form factor of the mini as it is practical for media consumption, reading, etc as well as note taking with the apple pencil.

As others have alluded to, this is more of a classic "iPad/tablet" type of device versus a laptop replacement kind of device, and that suits my needs just fine. I already have a laptop and used to have an 11 inch pro that I found was not useful for productivity because of the limitations of iPadOS.

As always, your mileage likely will vary.

It's a small screen for that, I have the 12.9" for those uses, mini wins as a book reader though and some apps, web browsing is average though just a blown up iPhone, i'm still thinking about getting another one though lol

Love the Mini 6, sits perfect between the phone and MBP. Only wish it had 8GB RAM instead of 4GB…

True. I’m thinking it has something to do with the screen refresh or something that makes me FEEL that my old iPad and current iPhone 13 Pro are way snappier. I don’t know.

I am using Mini still right now and man I do love the size of this thing. But whenever I scroll the screen, breaks my heart. I did originally bought this for media consumption and works well for me as e-reader and video. I have a habit of reading the text also while I scroll the web site for more text. Cannot do that with this. Had no problem with my iPhone XS Max. And of course no problems with current phone.

But hey, did not do my homework and here we are. I am glad for anyone who are not so sensitive for the poor display and scrolling.

Love my mini 6. Even though I've owned several iPad Pro models, the mini 6 has been my favorite one so far for note-taking. I hate resting my hand on the screen while I'm writing for some reason, and this model eliminates that issue because my hand usually ends up more off to the side while I'm writing. I love it for Books, News, Twitter, video, etc. as well.

The mini is a great fit between my 14" MBP and iPhone 13 Pro Max. If I'm going to have to kill time and know I won't need to type a lot or do a lot of intense work, I leave my Mac and iPhone at home and the mini comes with me instead. Since it has the A15, I'm also not afraid to work on more resource intensive projects with it, which is not an option I had on my last mini.

I think iPadOS has come a long way and really works well on the mini other than the weird Home Screen layouts. Very satisfied with my purchase and I really kind of forget about the jelly scroll until someone mentions it here.

Yeah, me personally, I really can't see an issue with the screen.

I like the screen size change from 7.9" to 8.3". Comic Book content viewed in portrait mode is a match now with the new Mini 6's aspect ratio. With the previous Mini 5 the same content was forced smaller to conform to the wider resolution so I had to zoom or shrink to view that content.

Then we have when Mini 6 is being used in landscape orientation watching Netflix or other streaming content that same new aspect ratio provides a noticeable larger video presentation along with the audio properly separated by the correct placement of speakers compared to the substandard placement of speakers around the lightning connector of the mini 5.

With either of these two examples the Mini 6 is diffidently superior to its predecessor.

Things I thought would be an issue that just aren't, and I use a 2021 12.9" iPad Pro and 13 Pro Max:

* Jellyscrolling - it's there but has no effect on my use
* Touch ID - I actually find the touch ID very fast and convenient compared to face ID. Not a big deal
* 60hz display - No big deal for my use case which is largely video consumption, Dr. Disrespect in 60FPS 1440p on youtube is perfect.

5G rules also. I wouldn't make iPad Mini 6 my only iPad but it's a great bridge from my desktop 12.9" iPP and iPhone

Agree--I much prefer the mini 6's screen ratio over all previous minis. So much nicer in so many ways.

For the mini’s size, the new aspect ratio really works. I don’t think I’d like it on 10”+ iPads, though (worse for PDFs, single window landscape browsing, typing in landscape, etc).

Now if only Apple would better optimize the UI for the mini and really, iPads in general. I found iOS 14’s home screen more efficient than 15. Plus, my icons didn’t move all over the place when I changed orientations.
