Number one thing for me is the versatility to add whatever I find most important to the watch face and change that around as my situation changes. Focus modes and Shortcuts has made this even better, since I can have everything change automatically based on whatever conditions I want.

I guess I'm really neither. I had a AW S0 in 2015, went to a Garmin FR935 in 2017, Fenix 6 in 2020, now to a AW S8 in 2022. Garmin and AW both have features I like which the other doesn't have. I switched back to an Apple Watch because I like the total integration into the ecosystem and some of the features it has which the Garmin doesn't.

It isn't so much the new Apple Watch that intrigues me, per se - the S8 isn't much different from the S7, and if I'd had a S7 I wouldn't have bothered to upgrade. But since I'm jumping back in, I did it with the newest series in the product line.

Started with the Apple Watch series 4 then then series 6, and soon to be series 8.

Why did I buy it at first? I think the health integration so I’m aware of any health problems and it sort of keeps track of my activity level so if I’m falling below my minimum, I realize I need to pick it up. Yes I realize it’s not going to replace a doctor, but it has and will in the future alert me of some conditions where I need to go to a doctor.

Why did I upgrade and continue wearing it? Well, the series 6 sold me with the always on display. That made my Apple Watch, a watch where I can see the time without doing that weird wrist twist. Of course all the health and workout features keep me as well.

Why did I upgrade to the series 8? I think just an incremental upgrade and maybe looks because I liked the way the aluminum silver finished looked in the pictures. I haven’t seen it in person yet.

I just had to take my series 4 and series 6 to the Apple store for battery replacement. That was a whole week without wearing my Apple Watch. I noticed me looking at my wrist for the time and then thinking oh I have put my phone on my pocket. Yeah I know first world problem, right 😂

I also realized I can’t pause my music or podcasts from my wrist. I missed having notifications because I don’t notice them on my phone because it’s on vibrate at work. I missed my activity rings and being aware of how active I am. I also missed sort of a safety blanket, knowing that if something catastrophic happened, I could get help from my wrist.

Even before cell phones, I really didn’t like wearing a watch and I still don’t like bulky watches. That’s why I buy the smallest Apple Watch and would never buy that fancy new explorer watch. I used to keep a Timex watch on my belt loop to tell the time. I’m really surprised I’m still wearing the Apple Watch as much as I disliked wearing watches I would never choose not to wear one now.

New green novice. SE2 is my first AW. Was in the process of buying the SE1 for the past 2 weeks and then September 7 arrived. In June I had a stroke and physicians ordered me to lose weight and get in shape after that. A watch was the way to go. Did comparisons with Fitbit and Garmin and 40$ watches on Amazon. Was about to go with Fitbit but suddenly I woke up !!!! I now have my SE2 on my wrist and getting acquainted with it. So happy.

I went Series 0 to Series 5 and now getting an Ultra. As a yearly iPhone upgrader I don't see as much benefit to the regular watch upgrades but the Ultra has me pumped.

Honestly if ultra hadn't happened I would probably just continue using my series 5

First time buyer, ordered AWU. Previous versions didn't appeal to me, a bit of a watch snob I am. I like the titanium case, will go well with my new gold 14PM. Ultimately, it was the looks that sold me and the features sealed the deal. First smart watch for me.

I went from series 2 to the 4 to the 7 -which I will hold onto until there's some reason to upgrade from that. For me the 8 is not worth upgrading to

My SE has been my first and only Apple Watch, the next time ill upgrade will be likely when they introduce a really good new sensor worth upgrading for. The temperature sensor and its ability thus far just isn't useful for me to justify an entire new upgrade.

S2 > S4 > S5 > upcoming S8. All my old Apple Watches were gifted to somebody, either family or friend.

I had ordered the new Ultra but cancelled and ordered the S8. A month and a half wait was too long, plus the regular 8 gives me everything I can use but at half the price of the Ultra. The only thing that might see me getting an Ultra when generally available is the battery life. But I'll be waiting to see the hands-on reviews by regular users.

AW7 Starlight. Realized how much I love the AW, and if I'm wearing it everyday, I'm going to do it in style- AW8 SS Silver+SB Link Bracelet arriving.

First AW was series 2 which was an Xmas present I kept that until it stopped receiving watchos support went for a SE which I have given to my partner as her S3 stops receiving os support I now have a S8 though noticed the screen isn’t flush with the case is that normal? Or do I need to go back to the apple store and get them to check it out?
