If these rumors prove to be true in the spring. And let’s say single camera sensor that’s the same as the on 11 (be it regular crop or wide angle)

Yes assuming that camera.

Reasons:
- Solid backup iPhone
- Secondary filming device to get more angles
- Can mount it on a stand and leave it on, using the Reminders app to sync as I tell my Apple Watch to remind me of things

If i would not be happy with my current 8 Plus, and if i wanted a cheap 399$ iPhone, sure. Many people will buy this and already look forward to it, of what i have heard.

Except the folks who want that outdated 4" form factor... can't please everybody.

My guess is it’ll have the iPhone 8 body with the A13 and 3 (maybe 4) GB of RAM. Single lens camera as well as that will take away iPhone 11 sales. Same camera as what’s on the iPhone 8, which is more than fine.

I did think an SE2 would be great but the more I look at the iPhone 11 the more I’m drawn to it, mainly because of the camera. My SE1 is great and all but the 1.2 megapixel camera is clearly dated.

I have the iPhone X right now. I actually am a fan of the older form factor (crazy I know). I would replace my X (give it to my wife) and use the SE2. I just can’t spend another $1000 on a phone. $700 would be my limit but at $399 I’m in for one!

All rumours indicate the “SE 2” will be a refreshed 4.7” iPhone 8. So fans of the SE mainly because of the size will be sorely disappointed, as I am.

But all things considered, it seems like the refreshed iPhone 8 will be a solid addition to the lineup.

The SE has a 12mp camera.

He was referring to the front facing camera which has 1.2 MP and 720p@30fps video recording. The SE got most of the 6s hardware except the 5MP front facing camera that the 6s had, no 3D Touch and it has the first-gen Touch ID sensor which is noticeably slower.

I’d be happy if they just took the iPhone 8, updates it’s design somehow, and then just added the A13 chip and the camera from the iPhone XR! Then you get stereo speakers, water resistance, wireless charging plus all the other bells and whistles plus a pretty decent camera for a low price, but I’d pay up to £600 U.K. for a 128GB version.

Not for me. But I would like Apple to continue to offer a modern yet lower priced phone. Eventually I will want to buy my kids phones (they are too young now). When that happens I will want to buy low cost but still reasonably fast and powerful phones.

My daughter is using my wife’s old iPhone 6+ but eventually I’d like to get her a newer one. I think she’d love night mode.

My wife would be interested in this, except for the single camera. Her priorities would include a Home Button, with TouchID, the overall size of the iPhone 6/6S/7/8, and a good camera system.

Apple doesn't have an offering that meets all three of these, so it'll have to be a compromise when the time comes ... which is soon since she's on iPhone6 with a horrible battery. I'm thinking that the 11Pro would be the model that fits (or exceeds) most of her needs, but I get the sense that the Home Button carries the most weight (don't ask me why).
