If my hands grow in size by about 40% tonight I'll be trading my 6 in for a 6+. The shocking realization that applying enough force to an object can damage it didn't really affect my future purchasing choices.

Yeah, that explains why the OP poll shows most users wouldn't still buy the 6+.

Oh, wait...

The problems won't magically disappear regardless of a small poll. Don't worry just ebayGate it next year when they fix all the issues on the new 6s plus

I originally ordered the 6 Plus 64GB. But my carrier after promising me it would be delivered on the 19th of September (launch day) it never came and they rescheduled my delivery to between the 4th and 10th of October.

So I cancelled it and I decided to buy it directly from Apple instead, saving a lot of money in the process for essentially the same delivery date.

Meanwhile all this bad information has come out about the 6 Plus. Games that run at the native 1080p resolution have half the graphical performance as the non-Plus with its 720p display. This is to be expected of course but many of us thought that due to the 6 Plus being larger its graphics cores would run at a faster clock speed to compensate for the larger display. That is not the case.

Another thing that kinda annoyed me is the scaling situation, instead of running apps at 1920x1080 it runs them at 2208 x 1242 and then downsamples it to 1920x1080 so it's not pixel perfect but more importantly its even further burdening the graphics hardware making it render things at an even higher resolution and then compounding that with scaling. I've experienced how ****** this is on the Retina MacBook Pro when set to the higher than optimal retina setting and it's not a great experience.

Then finally we have this bending problem. And for me it's not any one of these issues that has turned me away from the 6 Plus, it's all three of them combined. I want the specs, I want OIS, I want a native 1080p panel. But for me and I'm just talking about my needs, it's too much sacrifice to get them.

So I re-ordered yesterday and I've gone with the iPhone 6, 64GB instead of the iPhone 6 Plus. Now I'm not saying the Plus is rubbish or anything like that, it's no doubt a fantastic phone but for me personally the display scaling, graphics performance and bending are too much for me.

those 3 exact reasons are the reason i might exchange my Plus for a 6. Its more poor graphics and scaling than bending though. Love the long battery usage but those reasons are putting me off

I REALLY don't think this is as huge a deal as the media makes it. I remember stories about the 5 bending, and the 4S had issues, blah blah. Bottom line, a few months later you never heard anything about it. Yes, maybe the Plus does bend with less pressure than the 6 or other phones, but I absolutely don't think its that critical of an issue.

What? At least 2 million Plus' sold? We've heard stores about like maybe 20 people. Unless your wear skin tight jeans and force a phone into a pocket where it just doesn't fit and then apply tons of pressure by climbing or sitting (which, by the way, you'll know is too much because the pants will squeeze the crap out of you. That's nature's way of telling you to bump up a size or two.) you'll be fine. Even with the 4S I was cautious not to put it in tight pants and then climb or something. It's just what you do. Don't force any object into a place where it clear doesn't fit or is exposed to too much pressure. Would you put your rMBP in a backpack with 4 Textbooks with a combined weight of 20 pounds and let them smack into each other and toss your backpack into your car? No. Because you know to treat objects realistically. This is all you have to do with the Plus.

Happily using my 6+ here and not caring one bit about Bendgate. I never subject my devices to even near the amount of force required to bend them. End of story.

Are you still buying the 6 Plus after Bend-gate?

Mine is coming in tomorrow. If I don't like the size, or if I notice the bending becoming an issue (assuming it happens within the return period), I'll check out the 6. Easy peasy.

Yeah, that explains why the OP poll shows most users wouldn't still buy the 6+.

Oh, wait...

I think a few reports out of millions is a silly reason not to buy the Plus. Just don't expose the phone (or any device) to extreme pressure. Even that annoying video where the guy bent his phone required strain. Those pants must have been awfully tight for these people to bend it. I would think it would hurt your leg!

First I need to test it at the store. After being sure it's the right choice I'll buy it. As Apple has always backed up replacing defective products when needed. Is Apple service still good? I haven't replaced anything is the last 2 years...

Beyond the 'bend gate' issue, I have always put them in a case and with the protruding camera and rounded edges, having a case seems like a must have, and it have to be a case with a stand and rigid to prevent the potential bending.
Apple Care for the iPhone is too expensive for something you know may happen.
Ha ha now folks are gonna try and bend the phones in the apple store.

----------

You had an iPad? Did it bend?
I am sure the OP did not try putting it in his pocket.

Apple care is pretty good. I always get it and have used it. You guys realize it entitles you to a new battery. I always make sure I get a new battery before my apple care is up. To me that makes it worth it as well as piece of mind.

After using the 6 Plus for a week, I checked out the 6 at the Target display last night. It seems really small, not much different than the 5s. Comfortable to handle but seems like a much smaller device (because it is). I can't go back - I like the large, beautiful screen and 2-day battery life. Yes, it can't be dropped or sat upon but then again all my tiny iPhones since the 4 have been fairly fragile, needed a case, etc. It's a larger, heavier device so of course it's going to be more prone to break if dropped or bent under terrific pressure. This entire Bendgate drama is stupid. "Gee, my iPad Air will bend/break if I sit or stand on it and so will my MBA!"...

I am an Apple enthusiast but not a fan girl. I have returned iPhones and iPads for uneven, poorly calibrated screens in the past on several occasions. My 6 Plus arrived with a flawless case and screen. I have nothing to complain about. It is brand-new and the app developers and case makers are unfortunately having to play catchup.

This is a ____-gate? Really?

I was under the impression you needed a marginally more significantly number of users experiencing a problem than what we have at present for something to be considered a ____-gate of some sort.

Apparently not.
