instaxgirl, do you get up in the middle of the night and use the computer?

Only in the once in a blue moon when I can't sleep. I think you're having a dig at me - cheers.

I just don't like sitting around waiting for a computer to start up when I don't have to. I often flip it on in the morning to check emails (nothing sucks more than spending 90 minutes in rush hour traffic to find out that what you were going to has been cancelled) or quickly print something off.

I flip it open 20 times a day for things that take 2 minutes. And as for overnight I don't see the point of turning the thing completely off when I'm going to want to use it again in 5 or 6 hours. Any battery loss is negligible.

I came form PC's, and previously from using my gaming PC as a daily use machine. Even in sleep mode it snored very loudly, so shutting down is they way I go. I very rarely use sleep mode.

I shut down/restart my Mac approximately once in 10 days. Usually because of an update but sometimes for clearing out the RAM. Sleep is so easy. I've forgotten to save my work when I've worked on school project million times but it doesn't matter because I can just continue.
