It’s funny. I have had temptations over the years for phones a lot to go back to Android, even now with the Fold 7. I’ve never had a temptation to go the an Android tablet. I remember buying one years ago. However bad you think ipad apps are, Android tablet apps are 1000x worse or non existent.

Not really. I think the only time I ever thought about it was when the ultra came out, for the screen size. However, it comes back to the whole ecosystem thing. It wouldn't integrate well with all my other Apple devices. On top of that whilst I think the iPhone has competition from other android phones, I still think the iPad is best in class.

I've understood those wider aspect ratios for cheaper tablets (it makes them great streaming video devices), but it hasn't made much sense to me for higher-end models that are used as creative tools and laptop replacements. Even a 16:10 (or rather, 10:16) ratio is awkward when you're holding the device in portrait mode.
They are great for steaming videos but awful for everything else. I much prefer the 4:3 aspect ratio, it's adequate for watching videos but is better for everything else. reading, web brownies, apps, gaming etc.

I own a Remarkable Pro and a Mini. Currently in the process of selling the mini. Os limitations and such make it a very lateral companion to my Laptop. The idea of consolidating the two devices into a foldable makes the experiment of going without the iPad interesting.

Samsung tablets seem nice, and would have been considered had I been out of the ecosystem.
