Nope, most likely I'll wait until next June and see what is available then. The 3Gs doesn't seem to offer anything revolutionary that could make me justify this amount of money.

I can see in the very near future a new iphone with a video/cam on the interface side also allowing video conferencing , an eyesight cam - anyone buying this new upgrade might be pretty miffed when that happens.

You do know it is not an identical device plus video functionality?

Faster processor, double the ram, built in compass, better quality camera, better battery life, faster 3G.

How many are going to pay £350 for an identical device plus video functionality?

identical plus video? ridiculous comment.

faster processor, more ram, better camera, autofocus etc......these mean nothing to you then?

i'm not upgrading but i recognise that the 3gs isn't an identical device and it would appear that you saying that is a case of sour grapes on your part. can't afford to pay out your contract by any chance?

Agreed, but:

  • My 3G runs fast enough and has enough RAM
  • Why would I need a compass?
  • Nicer camera would be good, but I use my "proper" camera 99% of the time
  • Better battery life would be good, but the 3G isn't that bad.
  • I very rarely have good 3G connection so a better 3G speed isn't an issue.
For me, the 3Gs doesn't offer enough compelling features for the cost. I'd rather wait and see what next years model does.

I was considering it (1st. gen owner) but I don't want to lock myself to ATT for another 2 years so I'm passing on it. I want to see what's next.
