only when gaming or writing reports, besides that no need for a mouse.

I'm exactly the same. Mouse when gaming. Trackpad is more than sufficient for normal usage.

I use the Magic Trackpad while my MBP is hooked up to an external monitor at home. 🙂 However, while on the go, I bring along my Magic Mouse for situations when it is more "convenient" for me to use a mouse. 🙂
