Don't expect this bug to be around too long. It's getting quite a bit of "media" coverage now. 9to5mac, many tech sites and YouTube channels. Plus feedback being sent.
That's what I was noticing. I asked the vista guy once how to do it and then it spread like wildfire. I think vista put it on Reddit too and then Jeff Benjamin found it and the fire broke loose and I saw a few other blogs giving all the credit to Jeff. Yeah too bad we couldn't keep this on the down low. They will surely fix this bug soon I bet. But it's fun while it's lasting! Thanks vista!

I tried it for awhile, thought it was neat, but eventually grew tired of how raw and jerky the experience became. I turned it off and filed some feedback to Apple, requesting an option for a fast animation speed setting, which, I think, is what I really would like.

Try using this for a week and then rebooting. Sure made my 6s device responsiveness seem slow as %&$ after the reboot, had to reactivate it right away. Hope this is on their low priority bug fix list or that someone at apple says, "thats pretty cool lets fine tune it and implement it as a setting".

I tried it, don't like it. I prefer the animation. Every now and then my phone will act up and switch quickly like the bug does and I have to reboot my phone to make it stop. Look neat at first but then it got on my nerves pretty quickly. As I mentioned, I prefer the animation

Why is everyone hoping and focusing on this not being fixed? If anything, this bug proves we need to focus asking Apple to give us an option to speed up animations OS-wide and/or disable them.

This bug proves iOS can be "sped up" by tweakening animations, lets focus on making this a feature, not a bug.

I love animations and I like them to stay.
I tried reduce motion for a while and then came back to full animations even with older devices like the iPad Air and iPhone 5S.

seems to "fix" itself after 2 days or so? no biggy to get it to work again. just wondering if thats just me

Because Apple has made very disappointing changes to iOS in the last two years regarding interface and speed. That's why.

The bug is horrible and should be fixed

But I think Apple should increase the speed of all animations 30-50%

Which is definitely awesome!
It doesn't break security or something!

It breaks a function in iOS. And causes other things like the lock screen flashing back on for a second when you lock. Who knows what other side effects it can cause. I've personally noticed a warmer back on my phone when I've "enabled" the bug to try it.

Don't get too cozy with the bug. It will probably be fixed as early as 9.3.1 or 10.0 because it's been getting a lot of attention from tech sites writing articles about it and also creating new YouTube videos to accompany their article. There's been feedback sent I too all of that through the feedback app/site as well. So it's pretty safe to say Apple is aware of it and won't like a bug there that breaks something.

Hopefully in the bug report you also mentioned that they should enable faster animations!

In the personal bug report I've sent? No. Because it was a bug report, not a feature request. I could care less if it was a feature. I was reporting a bug. I'm not the only one to have reported it. It's been around for a long time, it only wasn't until recent it was discovered that AssistiveTouch was the cause of it.

Great... They will fix it and won't replace it with faster animations!
The more people report it with the request for faster animations, the better.

I mean, I don't get it anyway why you reported it as it's not your business at all because you don't have to enable it and don't activate it accidentally!

OMG yeah! Shame on me for actually using the feedback app as I should be doing as a beta tester to report bugs. Get real pal.

It would be typical that this would be the bug that apple does fix, out of all the other annoying ones around they choose the one that actually gives you a better experience if you want it.

Hopefully they don't though.

Annoying little bug vs something that actually breaks something. Kind of a difference there.

And it's a little hypocritical to say "fix everything else, but not this"

They gotta fix it fast so people on older iOS devices go back to sluggish/annoying experience and consequently are lured into buying the new iPhone SE or iPads

Apple still haven't fixed issues with notifications centre that cropped up in iOS 9 where if you clear notifications your whole device crashes to the point you've got to do a hard restart. OR the one where iOS deletes your music randomly, thats breaking something and pretty bloody annoying considering its been around since iOS 7.1 (or earlier). Annoying bugs can clearly be things that break other things.

So yes I am asking for other more annoying bugs to be fixed before this one which actually has to be 'enabled' first for anything to actually break, and once 'enabler 's great because it cover's up for Apple's pathetic handling of animations in iOS 9 (and 8 as well actually).
