I have a 13" 2009 MBP and a 12" MacBook. I like the 12" way, way better.

The 2009 13" MBP was great for its time, but its time has long since passed.

I will eventually install High Sierra on it with the patcher though, to give it its last hurrah.

Plastic, i have 2006 model and 2009 model!

I hate the metal macbook btw.
My preference: 2010 unibody white, the best looking macbook ever made!

It s just as new :)
Unibody is easy to clean (i only did it once)

The yellow tint and the unremovable dirt are ibook' s problems, unibody white macbooks are safe :)

The 2008 aluminum unibody MacBook was fantastic---my first Mac! I think they only made an aluminum version for one year before going to the white plastic.

I do have a 2010 white one---still runs fine after maxing the RAM and installing a small SSD.

great upgrade, i have the same plan: 4/8 gb ram and a small ssd are well deserved for this beauty!

i m wondering about the performance i could gain: i m using El Capitan with only 2gb ram and it s just usable, but with HIGH SIERRA i don t know

Neither now, I retired my mid-2010 white MB and sold it (and now it's stuck in USPS limbo LOL) and the 2015 rMB I owned didn't work out in the end. Now I've got a 2014 13" rMBP and I love it to bits.

Err why? The hardware's fairly similar to the 2009 white MB and the aluminum casing looks much better (and holds up way better).

it s just personal preference buddy :)
i just can t stand the aesthetics of the alu macbook pro (all the pro models)
on the opposite Macbook air looks great!

the new macbook 12 when closed is beautiful, but open seems a deformed mediacom netbook to me :(
