I was going through her catalog yesterday. The reports earlier in the week were not good. I don’t think anyone can come close to replicating her voice. There is a reason she was the queen.

I had read earlier in the week that she was unwell, and a report yesterday said that she had received visits from old friends while in a hospice, which suggested that the outcome would not be positive.

A great artist with flair, integrity and soul and style. A superb singer and classy lady.

I'd been expecting her death for awhile now, but it still comes as a shock. Sad that we won't get to see any more live performances from her or hear a new album. We'll have to make due with the amazing legacy she left behind. My favourite music blogger put up a great mix of her covering other peoples songs. She took them and made them her own.
