My sister in law is having an issue. She JUST got her first iPad, an iPad2. She runs Windows Vista home edition, and she has the updated iTunes 10.2.1.

However, when she plugs the iPad into her iTunes, she gets a "iTunes cannot connect to the network, check your network settings." error message. She can't get into the iTunes store either.

She can easily access the web and various sites via her IE.

Any suggestions for trouble shooting this?

Thanks!

Any firewall settings on the pc keeping iTunes from seeing the Internet?

Any router firewall active?

iTunes has to see the Internet to activate the iPad, so if you can get the store to work, the iPad should also start to work.

Problem solved, thanks for your input. She hadn't downloaded updates from Microsoft since December.

D/L and installation of 20-some odd published updates and a reboot solved the issue for her.
