Wisdom teeth suck!!!! But don't make the same mistake I made (not that you are, sounds like you've got it all under control), do whatever you have to do to get them taken care of properly and as soon as you can..
All four of mine were coming in impacted and at the time this was going to require me to pay several thousand dollars out of my own pocket for surgery.. As you can imagine, I screwed up and put the surgery off like an idiot..
When you're an 18 year old kid, living on your own, it's not only tough to come up with that kind of scratch but it's also tough to take the time off from work not just for the surgery but also for the recovery from a relatively invasive surgery.. Hey, your health comes first and without that nothing else is possible, or important for that matter..But there's something about the strength of youth.. It's a blessing and a curse.. For the most part I was able to deal with the pain of 4 impacted wisdom teeth that were coming in- whether I liked it or not.. Problem was I had a mouth full of teeth already, so there was no room for some HUGE teeth, laying on their sides, to exist..Pretty big problemm..lol..
The impacted wisdom teeth just basically shoved the teeth surrounding them aside- with brute force.. Obviously this didn't just happen with the first teeth next to the wisdom teeth- it was a chain reaction all the way down my jaw line.. Thing is, being young & strong (and STOOPID) I kind of just dealt with it.. It seemed like every year it would hurt REALLY BAD for a day or two and then get manageable again.. So, like the knucklehead I was I continued to put it off- for about 10 more years or so.. I'm embarrassed even typing that..
As you can imagine it all came to a head around the time of my 30th birthday.. Thankfully I had dental insurance at this point- but had I done the right thing and handled this when i should have I probably could have avoided the experience of having a room full of oral surgeons armed with power tools (think dremel saw) that really should probably be in a shed and NOWHERE NEAR a mouth.. Not too mention one surgery after another for the better part of the next year of my life..
My point is, wisdom teeth are no joke- hopefully someone can learn from my stupidity and not put off getting them taken care of even for one day.. That was some of the worst pain I've ever experienced- that fact that at least some of it was self inflicted makes it even worse.. I don't wish that on anyone..
