Arrival of my Imac

Greetings to All,

I just wanted to give a shout out for the arrival of my Imac 24 inch 2.8 ghz. I am so excited but rather than unpacking it first, I decided to thank all of you and this forum for all the useful information. There is much to be done and I am very 😀 to finally have made the move to :apple: from the darkside. I feel good!😎

You took the words right out of my mouth (no, not a meatloaf impression).
I consider Windows to be the darkside. Hope you have alot of fun with your new purchase, I shall be joining you soon with a purchase of my iMac next month.
Is it just me or do I keep reading phrases like 'Got my first Mac' & 'just switched from Windows' quite frequently? Is this the usual rate of switchers?

Guys,

Let's be clear. I wrote: "... finally have made the move to :apple: from the darkside. I feel good!😀." Therefore, I moved from the "Windows" darkside to the enlightened ":apple":side. 🙂
 
you guys all really sound gay with the whole, "welcome to this new computer world." its not a freaking fanboy club or cult.


...but i still like OSX 😉 i hope you like it as much as i do.

Not a fanboy or cult? are you kidding? Welcome to the club of the best computers made, and iMac is the role model.😀

Ladies and gents, how's about we help Newbe out by posting our three favorite applications he should download?

Mine:

Firefox 3 for surfing the Internet;
Handbrake for ripping DVD's; and
MPlayer for playing movie files. I recommend either ripping in the AVI or MPEG format. Handbrake also rips DVD's in a format and size perfect for the iPod.
