Sometimes I get some graphic artifacts when using the Google Chrome browser. My laptop is in my signature. The artifacts are mini green and purple dots that show up just for a second and then go away. It only happens on some websites.

I want to ask, is that anything to be concerned with? I only see it with Google Chrome, but then again I use my computer mainly for Google Chrome so I do not know if it will show up on any other programs. So far it hasn't. What should I do about this problem?

Discrete graphic chip is about to die. Actually,GPU isn't going to die.You need to do reballing of GPU chip.

Will Apple fix this for free even though I am out of the warranty period?

I believe they have extended the repair program to those affected and are out of warrant for 2010 MBPs

I went to the Apple store, they ran a video test. It passed.

The artifacts still show up from time to time. Only in Chrome. Could it be Chrome?

It is possible. When you say artifacts is it in only certain parts of the screen? Are you using an themes within Chrome?

If its just chrome, that year maybe something is up with the app then.
