Well as the title says. What games are you looking forward to upto the end of the year.

Myself....

Well I'm stoked that in a couple of weeks time I'll be re-adventuring back into paradise with Viva Pinata 2 on the 360, and even more exciting the NDS.

I have both formats pre-ordered.

Then Little Big Planet looks set to finally make my PS3 a happy place.

Other than those titles though, nothing else really has made me stand up and take note. I'll probably hire other games, but those are the ones I'm buying.
 
Still playing too much Brawl to even consider other games :eek: and what with the recent TF2 update (new mode is ossom, btw) I'm not "on the prowl" so to speak.

Left4Dead looks nice. It's Valve so it'll be too good. Maybe LocoRoco 2 but I dunno, from the trailer it looks too... overcooked?

Nah. This winter is going to be my catchup. I've got... 1 Wii, 3 DS, 6 PSP and countless PC games to finish.

hmmm Far Cry 2, Yakuza 2, Persona 4, STALKER Clear Sky, PoP, LBP, CoD4.5, Resistance 2, Gears 2,Fable 2, Fallout 3, Spore, Mirror's Edge, Bionic Commando whatever it's called, Valkyriea Chronicles, Red Alert 3, Rock Band 2 (a little) GH4: WT (kinda)... *sigh* I'm sure there is more... and yeah... I won't be playing them all.

The bolded are my pre-orders.This year crushes last year, which was pretty awesome for good games. Expensive fall/winter/spring

edit: OH! and Crysis Warhead. Must play.

edit #2: maybe Dawn of War II, CoH was pretty cool so I'm sure Dawn of War will be as well.
 
I'm looking forward to Spore, Pure and Crysis Warhead for the moment, there are other Q4 games like GTA IV and Fallout 3 than I'm expecting but those 3 will be good for a while :)

For the DS, I'm only really interested in N+ and Viva Pinata.
 
Spore, Animal Crossing, Guitar Hero: World Tour, Halo Wars, and some of the unannounced games i hope Nintendo will release this year
 
Damn! I was hoping we wouldn't see this thread for a while as it reminds me that wonderful chilly winter is on it's way out (technically not for another month though) and we're looking at the long hot days of summer.

MWSF 2009 - "Can anyone else smell feet?" The release of iPod socks 2.0

US Ski trip 2.0 - Squaw Valley 2009. Awesome.

Aus Ski Trip 13.0 - Perisher Blue 2008. Awesome.

Not games I know but just as good in my mind...

Anyhoo, on topic - Spore is the only one I'm really interested in, looks very unique.

But if I had to pick just a few it would be Mercenaries 2, Wario Land, LittleBigPlanet, Mirror's Edge, and Resistance 2.

I pre-ordered Mercs 2 and will pre-order LBP soon :D.

Left 4 Dead seems to be appearing a lot in your lists guys..

I can't see the attraction in it tbh, even after seeing the gameplay video's - it just looks like a meh co-op FPS that graphically seems dated...

Damn why did I start this thread?? Yeah looking closer at some of the games you lot have mentioned there are a number that will highly likely turn into purchases.

Mirrors Edge does look promising - I probably will buy it.
Resistance, will probably turn into a purchase too.
Fallout 3 - I really enjoyed both Oblivion on the 360, and Oblivion GOTY Edition on PS3, so have high hopes for this.
Animal Crossing (assuming it's 08)
Spore - is the console version due at the same time ?
Silent Hill and RE5 both 2009 also are they not? I will get both.

errr... not to burst you bubble but only 3 of those games are coming out this year.... the rest are 09 or beyond (!!!)


and boo to Chrono Trigger. Word is it's a $50 DS game! Damn you Squeenix!

Is Tales of Vesperia on anyone's radar? This RPG looks very interesting and is due out this month. See movies here. However, it is a Japanese game having an anime feel to it and the generic high pitched voices, which is something I usually don't prefer. Currently playing The Witcher (PC) which I do like. Recently played Lost Odyssey, which I did not care for.

My understanding is that there have been previous versions of Tales of Vesperia. Anyone play them? I'm curious as to the quality of game environment and game play? If familiar, how open is the world?

Eh? Maybe to graphic whores, it's got one of the most powerful facial control systems going and some very powerful AI and physics.
It just doesn't cover everything in plastic wrap and gloss is all. Thankfully Valve make games going off the hardware that most players are using so you don't need to keep buying new hardware (which is what a lot of PC gamers are crying out for). Though the Source engine is capable of a lot Valve don't push it far. Garry's Mod is a good way to view what the engine can do.
 
Little Big Planet is a definite purchase, unless it somehow miraculously turns out to be total *****.

Far Cry 2 looks interesting because of the level editor, and the setting (realistic, but not WW2). I really don't need another FPS, but this might be enough for me to buy it.

Bioshock I will most likely purchase. It was the one X360 exclusive game that ever made me jealous. :)

Shaun White Snowboarding - if it turns out good, I will DEFINITELY get that. I'm dying for an awesome current-gen snowboarding game!

I know that was going to bring you out. I have nothing against the source engine and all that and your right about it. The fact of the matter is the engine is showing its age and could use tweaking in general.

I think I'm the only person on earth not excited for RE....but I'll get it anyway going on how RE4 was great.
