    Hi,

I just finished my ASCII Art generator program, anyone interested in testing it? Here is a page with the details, a demo, and a .zip with the demo.

    http://nuclearnova.com/asciiart.php

I can provide a few free serial numbers for the first few people who provide feedback about the demo version. I'd like to hammer out any remaining bugs and make a few minor improvements, then announce version 1.0 and submit another version to the Mac app store.

    Thanks in advance!

Thanks guys. Any feedback so far? I'd like to release as shareware tomorrow. Just post any feedback on the demo (watermarks image) and then I'll send you a serial number for the full version later tonight or tomorrow morning.

Looks interesting. Here are some things.

    1) The buttons for the ASCII symbols. Click "Symbols" adds them to the Character Set box. Clicking it again doesn't seem to do anything; I would have it remove them if you click it again -- maybe changing the text on the buttons to reflect this would be good as well.

    2) I added all ASCII types, symbols, numbers, etc (clicked them all) then ran a preview of one of the images I had. It was OK but it was hard to tell with the very bold "ASCII ART" water mark. In fact, I was so bold I couldn't tell if it looked right at all.

    3) Chose a color art, load an image and click preview. Now repeat this with another image; the application locks up and / or crashes.

    4) If you have a long image (mine was much longer then it was wide) the preview only shows you the bottom part of the output, there is no way to scroll back up.

    1) Good call, should be simple enough to disable the item after being clicked and as long as the character set has all of the included items.

    2) I'll lower the watermark alpha. I debated over it being too large/dark when I made it, and a second opinion and look confirms that

    3) Can't recreate it, but it doesn't surprise me, I need to test for some memory leaks, optimize, and run a collection of images until I can stop occasionally crashing it.

    4) Interesting, I must have broke something because a day or two ago you could select text and drag up to scroll, but it seems broken now.

Thanks for the advice, I'll make some of those changes for 1.01, hopefully it does well enough on the app store to justify working on it, I have a decent list of small to large features and a few other bug fixes I want to implement. Serial number coming your way PM too

Here are three promo codes for the app. I wanted to post here in case anybody was subscribed to the thread, I'll post a few more in the promo code sections. Reviews would really be appreciated if you use the codes. Thanks!
